Reporter shocked to discover the racist she interviews is actually a racist.

Reporter shocked to discover the racist she interviews is actually a racist.

This week Caitlyn Becker, news anchor for HuffPost Live,  had the surprise of her life while interviewing Romeo,  the creator of the infamous website ‘Sleepless in Austin’.  Romeo created this site to get a date, but instead ended up telling the world he is shallow and racist. For example, an excerpt from his website:

“I will not date a Black girl. I don’t care if she looks like Halle Berry, I will not ever date a Black girl. And, I do not believe that Whites & Blacks should mix races sexually and have kids together. I think it’s ok for Whites & Hispanics. But not Blacks. I would NEVER, EVER, EVER date a woman if I found out she had EVER been sexually active with a Black man.”

Within three days of creation, this website went viral.  Even though Romeo clearly made himself out to sound like a racist, Caitlyn decided to give him the benefit of the doubt, dig deeper then the written word, interview Romeo, and find out who he really is inside.

Romeo, ‘Sleepless in Austin’

During the interview, Romeo sincerely stated that he wasn’t racist. He then continued with his incredibly shallow and racist statements. Caitlyn cut the interview short stating, “Woh we are going to shut this down because it turned from something I thought was an ironically funny post to something that is so wrong in my eyes I just can’t do it.” Caitlyn was shocked to learn, Romeo’s racist comments on the website weren’t part of some big ironic joke, but he was in fact, a full blown raging racist. This reporter, for one, admires Caitlyn tremendously for being able to maintain her professionalism in the face of such hurtful comments that would make even the most sane person want to rip Romeo’s head off.   We here at Repo Comedy wish Caitlyn the best and will be watching and supporting her next week as she gives the benefit of the doubt to former members of the KKK.

  1. Every normal person experiences this sooner or later – the moment when they realize that some truly horrible person is speaking the truth and that this should be taken at face value. Back in the 1990s in Ontario, Canada, people voted for a Conservative government which said, during the elections “we will cut budgets by 40% if elected, to save the taxpayer money…. etc” AND then they were elected, AND then many people who voted for them (or rather, voted against the incumbent NDP) FREAKED out because this is exactly what happened…

And, last week, Toronto, Canada and the UK went crazy over a University of Toronto instructor who announced, in an interview “I don’t teach women writers or Chinese writers… only really hetero male writers….” At first, I thought the story was a joke – but it wasn’t. See #DavidGilmour on twitter and

And, many thanks for noticing and liking my guest blog at my Engineer-daughter’s blog (proud mother speaking, now): my first guest post will give many of your readers a good laugh –

  2. Sometimes it is a good idea to take what people say at face value. Does it really come as a surprise that there are racist in the US? I, you will find, am not a racist as evidenced by the books I write, which brings me to the purpose of this comment. Thank you so much for letting me know that you liked my post, “River Congo – Excerpt 10” on That is a real encouragement. I will post another excerpt next week. Thanks again. – Aloha – pjs.

  3. I’m wondering what his conditions are for rendering the $1,500 reward? I can see legions of skinny white cracker girls teaming up with a friend to scam this guy and it couldn’t happen to a more deserving soul!!
