Why That Guy at the Bar is Talking to You

I was at a bar this weekend with a couple friends, one of whom was a female. She was shocked to find that a man who had been chatting her up was interested in a bit more than deep conversation.

As a general helpful member of society, I thought I’d provide an exhaustive list of the possible reasons a man would talk to a woman in a bar on the weekend:

– He wants to know the time

– He forgot his glasses and wants you to read the score at the bottom of the TV screen

– He wants to have sex with you

– He is part of a guerilla social psychology experiment

– He sells those glowy lightsticks for a living and is actually hard at work

– He wants to have sex with you

– He is a born-again Christian, really thought you were an angel, and was legitimately concerned that the fall from heaven had injured you

– He wants to have sex with you

– He wants to have sex with your body

– He wants to have sex with your friend’s body

– He can’t afford the drinks he’s already ordered and needs to talk you into buying him lottery tickets

– He’d like to get your thoughts on the new Daniel Silva novel

– He wants to have sex with you

There we go. All cleared up.
